HPC Specialist

Job Description:
 
The qualified candidate will work directly with the HPC manager in a supportive role, and with a team of HPC service provider system administrators in a collaborative role.
 
Basic Qualifications:
 

• Minimum 5 year experience in Unix/Linux administration
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 

• 4-5 year experience in Job Scheduling/Queue Management/Utilization/Optimization utilizing Altair scheduling product PBS Pro.
• Manipulate queues during peak workloads to optimize resources
• Prioritize jobs/queues to adjust HPC utilization
• Solid understanding of PBS directives, functions, and operation.
• 4-5 yrs. experience in Unix/Linux scripting language (ksh, bash, sh, csh), Perl, LAMP stack, and Web based programming tools
• With the ability to write web based programs and create real time system utilization reporting tool (on-demand, trends, historical), and capacity reporting tool and graphs using PBS Pro raw data and customized data to produce capacity reports.
• 2-3 yrs. experience in Project Management or managing projects with lead role (PMP certification not a requirement).
• Have the ability to conduct and lead HPC related projects.
• Have a good understanding of IT Infrastructure (server, storage, network)
• 2 yrs. experience working with or a good understanding of CAE/CFD Virtual Analysis tools a plus.
