In a last-ditch attempt to shore up support for a “No” vote in tomorrow’s independence referendum, Britain is promising to guarantee Scotland high levels of state funding and greater control over health care.
With polls showing the decision too close to call, welfare spending and the future of the National Health Service have formed a central part of Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond’s case for secession.
In a deal brokered by former Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown Cheap Nike Air Max 97 , the leaders of Britain’s three main political parties said they would retain the funding equation that sustains a higher level of public spending north of the border.
“People want to see change,” says the agreement, published in Scotland’s Daily Record newspaper and signed by Prime Minister David Cameron, Labour leader Ed Miliband and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg.

If Scotland votes for independence, there would follow 18 months of negotiations over everything from North Sea oil and the pound to European Union membership and nuclear weapons.

SAO PAULO, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Britain's Lewis Hamilton crashed on Saturday in qualifying for the Formula 1 Brazil Grand Prix, meaning he will begin the race in Sao Paulo on Sunday in last position.

Hamilton walked away with no injuries but his car suffered severe damage. Since he crashed before completing the first lap, he will move to the back of the grid.

Premier says slowdown will not derail plans to increase jobs and incomes
Premier Li Keqiang said on Sunday that China has many weapons to fight difficulties in its economy and will be able to maintain its growth momentum. He did not say specifically how China will achieve its annual GDP growth target, but said he will not allow the slowdown to continue from last year and derail the plan for increases in employment and incomes.
Li was speaking at his news conference at the end of the National People's Congress annual session.
The key to China's success this year will be to balance growth and reform — namely growth in regular business and reform of the economic structure, the premier said.
Despite the downward pressure the country faces, the government favors mainly using long-term measures Cheap Air Max 95 , such as more reform and more innovation, to sustain growth, Li said.
China has not provided a strong short-term stimulus to the economy for the past few years and has an ample stock of “policy weapons” that can be used when necessary to prevent the slowdown from worsening, Li said.
If the growth rate falls below the government's desired range to affect employment and national income levels, it will adopt more short-term measures to boost market confidence.
